1. Who we are

This website, costumes.kincel.eu, is run by Kathy Kincel, trading as Kathy Kincel Costumes, a costume cutter and maker based in London and Sussex. Kathy Kincel is the controller of personal data collected through this website.

2. What we collect and why

Contact form and email

When you use the contact form we receive your name, email address, subject and message. We use them only to reply to your enquiry and, if we work together, to manage that project. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering enquiries, or steps taken at your request before entering into a contract.

Form messages are delivered as an email to our mailbox by our own website hosting (cyber_Folks); no other company handles them. The website itself does not store your message. To prevent abuse, a scrambled (hashed) form of your IP address is kept for up to 24 hours to limit how many messages can be sent.

Website analytics (Google Analytics 4)

If you choose “Accept all”, or switch analytics on under “Adjust”, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used: which pages are visited, how long for, roughly where visitors are (country or city), the device and browser, and how people found the site. We use this only to improve the website. The legal basis is your consent. Analytics does not run until you give it.

Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. Google uses the IP address briefly to estimate location, then discards it. We have not enabled Google Signals, advertising features or data sharing for advertising. Analytics data is kept for no longer than 14 months, after which it is deleted automatically.

Google Analytics is provided by Google Ireland Limited, with processing by Google LLC in the USA. Transfers are covered by the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and Google’s standard contractual clauses. More information: Google Privacy Policy and Google Analytics data safeguards.

Server logs

Our hosting provider, cyber_Folks, automatically records technical information such as IP address, date and time, and the page requested. This is needed to deliver the site securely and to protect it from abuse. Our hosting provider keeps these logs, including IP addresses, for 6 years; this period is set by the provider and we cannot change it. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in running a secure website.

Embedded content

Some portfolio pages include YouTube videos. The video player only loads when you press “Watch video”, and it uses YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). The Instagram pictures on the home page are stored on this website, so viewing them does not contact Instagram; clicking one opens Instagram, where Instagram’s own privacy policy applies. Once you interact with these services, their own privacy policies apply.

The website’s fonts are served from this website, not from a third party.

3. Cookies and similar storage

You can change or withdraw your consent at any time. Open cookie settings. If you reject analytics, Google Analytics is not loaded and no analytics cookies are set.

4. Who we share data with

We do not sell personal data or use it for advertising. We share it only with the service providers named above (hosting, analytics), who process it on our behalf, or where the law requires it.

5. How long we keep it

Enquiries and related emails are kept for as long as needed to deal with them, and for up to 6 years after a project ends for accounting and legal purposes. Analytics data and server logs are kept as described in section 2.

6. Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to access your personal data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its use, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. To use any of these rights, email costumes@kincel.eu.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office: ico.org.uk · 0303 123 1113.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
